Queen of the South tells the powerful story of Teresa Mendoza (Braga). When her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, Teresa is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. In the process, she learns the tools of the trade and strategically positions herself to become the leader of the Cartel.

Camila returns to Mexico in order to protect herself; James hunts Teresa; and Teresa faces danger while taking Maria through the tunnel to Mexico.

Camila’s operation goes underground after aligning with the Jimenez cartel; and, using information gleaned from Güero’s book, Teresa and Brenda attempt to start a new life.

Season 01 , Episode 12 – “Quinientos Mil”
Teresa and Brenda risk everything with an extortion attempt; and Camila goes further in her effort to overtake Epifanio’s empire.

Season 01 , Episode 13 – “Cicatriz”
In the Season 1 finale, Teresa risks her life to protect Güero’s book; Camila’s runs into trouble with her takeover; and Epifanio receives new intelligence that could change everything.
