Shadowhunters is an upcoming Freeform television series based on The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. The show was officially picked up to series on Jan 12, 2016. Follows the adventures of Clary Fray, a girl who discovers she is a shadowhunter. She must seek out others like her and descend into an alternate New York called the Downworld.

Season 01 , Episode 01 – “The Mortal Cup”
Clary Fray, a young woman realizes how dark the city can really be when, on her birthday, she learns the truth about her past. She is neither who nor what she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters— human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. Now thrown into the world of demon hunting after her mother is kidnapped, Clary must rely on the mysterious Jace and his fellow Shadowhunters, Isabelle and Alec, to navigate this new dark world. With her best friend Simon in tow, Clary must now live among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves to find answers that could help her find her mother. Nothing is as it seems, including her close family friend Luke, who knows more than he is letting on, as well as the enigmatic warlock Magnus Bane, who could hold the key to unlocking Clary’s past.

Season 01 , Episode 02 – “The Descent Into Hell Is Easy”
With the knowledge that Valentine is alive and on the hunt for The Mortal Cup, the Institute is on high alert. Not wasting any time, Jace jumps into action and figures Clary’s memories are the key to finding Jocelyn and The Mortal Cup. Unfortunately, Clary’s memories were wiped leaving her without any recollection of this other life that could help her and the team. With only one other option remaining, Jace, Isabelle and a very reluctant Alec take Clary to the City of Bones to face the powerful Silent Brothers. Meanwhile, Luke continues his search for Clary, and Simon tries to come to terms with his best friend’s new life.

Season 01 , Episode 03 – “Dead Man’s Party”
With Simon being held captive at The Hotel DuMort, Clary pleads with Jace, Alec and Isabelle to help her rescue her best friend. As the team readies for the mission, Jace helps Clary learn more about her Shadowhunter powers, Isabelle turns to her favorite Seelie for Intel, and Alec begins to question Jace’s motives and his place in their partnership. Meanwhile, a very scared Simon gets very up close and personal with Camille, the leader of the vampire clan.

Season 01 , Episode 04 – “Raising Hell”
The Shadowhunters discover that Magnus Bane, the High Warlock of Brooklyn, may know how to access Clary’s memories, so they attempt to lure him out by throwing a party. Meanwhile, Simon doesn’t seem like himself after an encounter with a Downworlder.

Season 01 , Episode 05 – “Moo Shu to Go”
Tensions escalate between Clary and Alec when they disagree on the best way to hunt down Valentine; and Alec struggles with the Clave’s rules after he’s tasked with keeping Clary safe while Jace and Isabelle are sent on an intel mission to the Seelies. Meanwhile, the werewolves from NYC begin their hunt for Clary and the Moral Cup.

Season 01 , Episode 06 – “Of Men and Angels”
Luke is taken to Magnus’ lair to save his life; the story of how Valentine came to be evil is told; Jocelyn and Luke’s past is revealed to Clary in hopes of triggering her memory of the Mortal Cup; and Isabelle and Alec try to restore their family name in the eyes of the Clave.

Season 01 , Episode 07 – “Major Arcana”
Clary and the team race to obtain the Mortal Cup before anyone else gets to it after they piece together the clues of its location. Meanwhile, Simon fears he’s turning into a vampire as his symptoms become increasingly worse.

Season 01 , Episode 08 – “Bad Blood”
The Clave sends a representative to observe the Lightwoods who are running the New York Institute after hearing of Alec, Jace and Isabelle’s “extracurricular activities” with Clary. Meanwhile, Clary is faced with a difficult decision.

Season 01 , Episode 09 – “Rise Up”
The Institute’s on high alert after the attack. Meanwhile, Lydia makes a harsh call on the Seelies, but the others fear it’s the wrong decision; Simon struggles to deal with his new situation; and Alec’s emotionally torn about the Institute.

Season 01 , Episode 10 – “This World Inverted”
Clary enters a new world in order to find Valentine and discovers she likes this alternate universe, because it’s a place without the threat of demons or the need for Shadowhunters. Elsewhere, Alec and Isabelle deal with the ramifications of the Downworlder attack.

Season 01 , Episode 11 – “Blood Calls to Blood”
Clary, Jace and Luke devise a plan to rescue Jocelyn after a surprising ally provides them with important information about Valentine. Meanwhile, Inquisitor Herondale arrives at the Institute for Isabelle’s trial; and Alec asks Magnus for help.

Season 01 , Episode 12 – “Malec ”
The eve of Alec and Lydia’s wedding leads everyone to closely examine their relationships; Isabelle throws her brother a bachelor party; and Alec struggles with Jace’s absence and his feelings for Magnus. Meanwhile, Clary and Jace search for Ragnor Fell to obtain the antidote that will awaken Jocelyn.

Season 01 , Episode 13 – “Morning Star”
In the Season 1 finale, Jace is determined to hunt down Valentine, despite his conflicted feelings; and Clary and Simon work together to discover the key to unlocking Jocelyn’s coma, but breaking the spell could have disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Alec faces the repercussions of his decision.
