Sunday is precious. In Taipei’s Little Philippines, Sunday is priceless. Its simple pleasures, perk up wilting ambition and rejuvenate flagging aspiration. The discovery of an abandoned couch, this particular Sunday, sets this story in motion. Filipino guest workers, Manuel and Dado, hoist the couch and head back to their dormitory in the industrial fringes of the Taipei hinterland. This funny road movie is driven forward by the conflict between their irrational hopes and the lurking personal demons of cold, hard rationale. Pinoy Sunday walks rural-third-world protagonists through traffic heavy, fast-paced, modern city streets and freeways; till ‘irrational hope’ and ‘the demons of cold, hard rationale’ mutate, and one is soon indistinguishable from the other.

“Thale” is a feature film based on a mythical character in Nordic folklore called the “huldra”. According to the myth a huldra is a beautiful creature with female attributes living deep in the woods. It is said that it seduces men that works in the woods by humming a beautiful song, and they never return to their village. You can recognize a huldra by its cow tail.

An action-filled adventure that will keep you at the edge of your seat for the rest of the film. Very authentic and well acted, there is hardly a dull moment. If you love war movie, this is not to be missed!

Making an action-packed movie based on a true story is not easy but this is a brilliant true crime hard action film and Thomas Jane is amazing! Stander is an absolute blast of a movie. Well directed and true to the facts. An unknown masterpiece of film making.

Andre Stander is a young, white policeman enjoying the comforts of middle-class married life in late-1970s South Africa, a country riven by Apartheid. Deeply affected by the indiscriminate killing he witnesses and takes part in during Riot Patrol, Stander wordlessly makes a decision to defy the very system he has spent a lifetime enforcing. Stander’s form of civil disobedience, however, takes an unusual form: a series of audacious, high-flying bank robberies, with the young police officer oftentimes returning to the scene of the crime as the lead investigating officer.
