This book, Textbook of Microbiology, deals with microbiology – an inherently valuable and useful discipline that offers an intimate view of an invisible world. The amount of information on this subject is so vast that microbiology books have generally followed one of the two main tracks. The traditional books seem to be exhaustive of microbiologic facts, and are too detailed to be read by typical medical students, who is trying to keep up with several other subjects simultaneously. Although, the text was designed to teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, it should also serve as a review tool for individuals who are taking medical examinations and persons working in health-related professions, physicians and infectious disease scientists. This textbook is divided into seven sections, based on the major disciplines included within microbiology: General Bacteriology, Immunology, Systemic Bacteriology, Virology, Medical Mycology, Miscellaneous and Diagnostic Medical Microbiology. The chapters themselves are comprehensive yet free of unnecessary detail and provide the reader with a framework for understanding.

Machine Learning is awesome and powerful, but it can also appear incredibly complicated. That’s where The StatQuest Illustrated Guide to Machine Learning comes in. This book takes the machine learning algorithms, no matter how complicated, and breaks them down into small, bite-sized pieces that are easy to understand. Each concept is clearly illustrated to provide you, the reader, with an intuition about how the methods work that goes beyond the equations alone. The StatQuest Illustrated Guide does not dumb down the concepts. Instead, it builds you up so that you are smarter and have a deeper understanding of Machine Learning. The StatQuest Illustrated Guide to Machine Learning starts with the basics, showing you what machine learning is and what are its goals, and builds on those, one picture at a time, until you have mastered the concepts behind self driving cars and facial recognition.
