When Harry, an Indian voice-over actor struggling to get his big break in Hollywood, finds out the plot of a recent best-selling novel greatly resembles the book he was working on 3 years ago, he tries to get back into writing but unforeseen circumstances arise.
Lucy and Lucien are two childhood friends who share a deeply troubled past, but they’ve managed to carve out a life for themselves in New York City. Lucy is an actor about to make her Off-Broadway debut, and Lucien’s vying for a solo show at a prestigious art gallery.
A fifteen year marriage dissolves, leaving both the husband and wife, and their four children, devastated. He’s preoccupied with a career and a mistress, she with a career and caring for four young children. While they attempt to go their separate ways, jealousy and bitterness reconnect them.
Chyna Lane, from She’s Gotta Have It, stars in the film as Jordan Boudreaux. Jordan is kidnapped and held hostage by her estranged boyfriend Steve. Her family and community rally together to find her before it’s too late. He cousin Malik, played by Shad “Bow Wow” Moss, makes it his personal mission to find and bring her home safely.
