Based on George Pendle’s 2006 book of the same name, Strange Angel explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction. The story follows the life of Jack Parsons, a mysterious and brilliant man in 1940s Los Angeles, who by day helps birth the entirely unknown discipline of American rocketry, and by night is a performer of sex magic rituals and a disciple to occultist Aleister Crowley.
On a quiet evening, a shabby beige sedan speeds down a country highway. Dust and gravel fly through the air when suddenly the car slides out of control into a ravine. As the Sergeant ushers John into a private room for questioning, he manages to escape with the help of Diana, who is convinced of his innocence. The fugitives then set off for the last crime scene in search of clues and answers to clear John’s name but the benevolent nurse will soon uncover the shocking truth behind the amnesiac’s identity and the web of deceit that will lead him to a final fight for his survival.

Trapped in the Closet is an opera by American R&B singer R. Kelly, which currently consists of 33 “chapters” released from 2005 to 2012. Written and produced by R. Kelly, the series tells a story of a one-night stand which sets off a chain of events, gradually revealing a greater web of lies, sex and deceit. The music follows a distinct E major pattern, and most chapters of the story feature the same melodic theme. Discovering a new direction for the music video, the singer has taken the soap-opera format and applied it to the narrative in his songs, with characters mouthing the lyrics.
