Red Green is a bearded Canadian carpenter who’s really handy with his hands, and can find great uses for duct tape. He hosts “The Red Green Show”, where he and his nerdy nephew, Harold, teach the viewers how to make excellent and useful crafts, as well as give marriage advice, from their home at Possum Lodge. Also, he plays games with Dalton Humphries where he must try to get him to guess a word by giving examples of it or saying a sentence it would be used in.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least it is true and man has no control, even over his own will. In medieval times war raged throughout the countryside. Feudal lords would give large sums of money to mercenaries who could rid them of their enemies. One such mercenary is Guts. He wields a sword almost larger than he is and holds tremendous strength and courage. When he joins a band of mercenaries known as the Band of the Hawk, he finds a purpose to fight for other than money and helps the Hawks to become the most feared enemy on the battlefield. Horace and Pete run a small family bar in the heart of Brooklyn, with the help of their Uncle Pete. The bar has always been run by, and passed down to, a Horace and a Pete, cousins or brothers. The bar serves no mixed drinks, only a few types of liquor and one brand of beer, Budweiser, in keeping with their commitment to having an old fashioned, traditional, family-owned bar. Horace, a divorced father of a grown daughter, lives in the apartment above the bar with Pete, who is single. Horace and Pete are battling with extended family members regarding the fate of the bar. Some want to sell, others do not. Various regulars come in and out, and take up their places in booths, or on barstools. The story unfolds over ten episodes, and takes place in the bar, and in the apartment above the bar. Ultimately it is a story of a family and the struggles and laughs that go into running a bar for generations.
The hairdresser, wife and mother Cynthia Kellogg is in police department being interrogated by the experienced detective John Woods and his partner, Detective Linda Nealon. Through flashbacks, she reveals how her best friend and colleague Joyce Urbanski married the scum and nasty James Urbanski; how hard Joyce’s life with James was; and why Joyce became a criminal. The smart detective finds some contradictions in her statement and presses Cynthia, trying to disclose the truth of two murders.
