Fur trappers Abel and Henry Iron struggle to make a living in a dying industry in the Rocky Mountains. Following in their late father’s footsteps, they travel the mountains searching for beaver, carving out a meager existence in the western wilderness. When Abel encounters a band of Shoshone Indians, a misunderstanding leaves one indian dead and the Iron Brothers on the run. Together, Abel and Henry flee into the mountains to escape the warriors that are pursuing them. In the end, they will learn if the bond of brotherhood is enough to save them.

Meet the Clampett clan – There’s Jed; the kind and intelligent patriarch (although lacking formal education) turned into an overnight millionaire through a stroke of luck. While he appears to be in a state of retirement, he is still frequently kept busy by trying to keep his family out of trouble and make peace with his neighbors. Then there is Granny; the matriarch of the clan who is mature, highly opinionated, paranoid of new-fangled ways and things. She considers herself to be highly educated (a self proclaimed Doctor of Hillbilly Medicine) and has difficulty understanding why anyone doubts her wisdom. Then there is Elly May; beauiful, but awkwardly naive. Apparently in her late teens or early twenties, she is considered an ‘Old Maid’ by the standards of her culture back in the mountains of her childhood. Last but not least, there is Jethro Bodine, the somewhat slow-witted nephew of Jed. He is constantly attempting to find a girlfriend by impressing them with his education…
I am a woman, but it is always ‘I’, which shall decide for me ‘How I Am A Woman’ and not the generic identities. Womanhood is a blessing but what ‘I’ accept ‘womanhood’ and ‘empowerment’ as, is surely a conscious-judicious enterprise of ‘power’ I acquire through personal initiatives. Man or woman, I’m always a good, amicable, honest, sincere and compassionate person, beyond generic identities.
