James Newton Howard (born June 9, 1951 in Los Angeles) is an American film composer. Throughout his prolific career, composer/musician/songwriter James Newton Howard has scored films of all scales and genres, earning multiple award nominations for his work.

Canadian-born Mychael Danna is recognized as one of the pioneers of combining non-Western music with orchestral and electronic elements in his film scores. Life of Pi marks his third collaboration with Ang Lee, having previously written the original music for The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil. Danna’s composing credits also include the Oscar®-winning hit Little Miss Sunshine, for which he shared a Grammy® Award nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album, (500) Days of Summer, The Time Traveler’s Wife and the Oscar®-winning Girl, Interrupted. Danna also received an Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Main Title Theme music for the theme to the Starz original series, Camelot, starring Joseph Fiennes.

Scheduled performers for the 40th annual gala include Carrie Underwood, Pink, Pitbull, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park and Christina Aguilera. The event is held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Winners are determined by fan voting in categories that include Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip Hop and Latin, and for the first time, Electronic Dance Music.
2012 expanded three disc (two CDs + DVD) edition of the R&B star’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. This edition contains the standard edition of the album, a second disc with eight new songs and a DVD that features the album’s music videos and 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage.
