Darren Baxter returns to his home turf in East London after a 10 year hiatus – and it’s a very, very different city to the one he left behind. The estate is in decay and rival gangs run the show. In order to create a better life for his younger brother, Darren must a take dangerous journey through a modern city that carefully hides its dark underbelly of drugs, extortion, guns and illegal fight tournaments.
The Terrestrials takes place in the near future. In this new age, a device exists that allows psyches to meet in a minimal space to have safe, efficient, and anonymous sexual encounters (think Tinder for your brain). “That was the beauty of the machine, you could be one of two stars colliding for a moment.” Lucy, our protagonist, is a reserved scientist who has recently been left by a long-time lover. To cope, she uses the device to satisfy her longings for temporary lust and affection. One day, while using the device, the server crashes, leaving Lucy stranded in the virtual world with the challenging, cheating Will, who she’s just had sex with. It’s only then that Lucy relearns intimacy, touch, and connection.
In California, Zack owns the “Breakingtime Billiards”, a store that sells pool tables and game room supplies. He works with his girlfriend Jennifer; the sexy seller Tara; the installer of pool tables and best friend, the wolf David, and his idiot assistant Eddie. After having a threesome arranged by Jen with Tara, Zach breaks up his relationship with Jen, in spite of her bringing him up all the time. He tells his sexual experience to David while Jen asks for an advice to her psychologist Dr. Bob Johnson in his radio show. Along the day and after the visit of many peculiar clients, Zack concludes that Jen is his dream girl.
Considered one of the most violent television series of its era, this show followed the adventures of Los Angeles, California private investigator Joe Mannix, who first worked for a detective agency known as Intertect, which relied heavily on computers and a large network of operatives. A regular guy, he rebelled against the Big Brother atmosphere at Intertect and struck out on his own, setting up his own agency, with police widow Peggy Fair working for him as his secretary. Each episode featured plenty of fistfights, car chases, and shoot-outs.
