American Classic is a comedy about a man desperately trying to save himself, his family, and his hometown in the only way he knows how—by putting on a show. Broadway star and notorious narcissist Richard Bean suffers a spectacular public meltdown, and decides to return home to the family-run theater where he first became aware of his own brilliance. When he arrives, he’s shocked to find that his brother, and his brother’s wife (who also happens to be his former lover), have turned his temple of art into a dinner theater—with the emphasis on dinner.

As Richard plans his Our Town, Jon tries to rein him in; Boyle offers Kristen a payment holiday for a dinner invite; Richard’s fundraising falters but is hopeful after an evening onstage; Boyle drops a bombshell at dinner.

Tensions escalate between Kristen and Richard; Auditions reveal Millersburg’s shrinking talent pool; Miranda’s protests complicate Kristen’s deal with Boyle; Boyle blindsides Richard with a demand.

Rehearsals begin for Richard’s Our Town and Nadia proves to be a directing challenge; Kristen bonds with Richard’s ex; Jon and Boyle take a fateful trip to Atlantic City and Nadia misinterprets Richard’s private rehearsals with disastrous results.
