TITANIC: THE FINAL WORD WITH JAMES CAMERON, National Geographic Channel (NGC) and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence James Cameron have released new animation created by the company that executed the image capture in the 2009 movie Avatar , that demonstrates exactly how the Titanic sank.

Using a never-before-seen stress model and forensic evidence, Cameron and some of the world’s leading Titanic experts make a revealing discovery concerning whether the ship reached its breaking point before it was completely vertical (as the event was originally depicted in Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster Titanic). Working backwards from the shipwreck on the ocean floor, new animation provides the most accurate picture of how the ship broke apart and why its remains are scattered.
