A Small Light follows twenty-something Miep Gies who, when her boss Otto Frank came to her and asked her to hide his family from the Nazis during World War II, didn’t hesitate. For the next two years, Miep, her husband Jan, and the other helpers watched over the eight souls (Otto Frank, his wife Edith and daughters Anne and Margot as well as four others) in hiding in the Secret Annex. And it was Miep who found Anne’s Diary and kept it safe so Otto, the only one of the eight who survived, could later share it with the world as one of the most powerful accounts of the Holocaust.

Season 1, Episode 01 – “Pilot”
Miep Gies, who believes she is just a secretary, is asked to hide the Franks from the Nazis.

Season 1, Episode 02 – “Welcome to Switzerland”
Everything seems to be under control until Miep’s dentist asks her if she knows a place to hide.

Season 1, Episode 03 – “Motherland”
Laws against Jews are intensifying, landing two small children in Miep and Jan’s care.

Season 1, Episode 04 – “The Butterfly”
Miep tries to reconcile her old life with her new one but is forced to choose between the two.

Season 1, Episode 05 – “Scheinfeld”
Jan refuses to abandon a dangerous mission, and Miep fears for his life.

Season 1, Episode 06 – “Boiling Point”
As Nazi crackdowns increase, Miep must hide an innocent student from her Nazi neighbor.

Season 1, Episode 07 – “What Can Be Saved”
Miep’s worst fear comes true when the Nazis raid the annex.

Season 1, Episode 08 – “Legacy”
With the end of the war near, Miep fights to keep Otto’s business running in hopes the Franks will return home; after the Allies liberate Amsterdam, Miep and Jan dedicate themselves to finding the Franks and the other Jewish residents of The Annex.
