Written only months before Jane Austen’s death in 1817, Sanditon tells the story of the impulsive, spirited and unconventional Charlotte Heywood, played by Williams, and her spiky relationship with the charming Sidney Parker, played by James. When a chance accident transports her from her rural hometown of Willingden to a would-be coastal resort, it exposes Charlotte to the intrigues and dalliances of a seaside town on the make. The drama takes viewers from the West Indies to the rotting alleys of London and exposes the hidden agendas of each character and sees Charlotte discover herself and ultimately find love.

Season 2, Episode 01
arlotte returns to Sanditon in unexpected circumstances. Army officers descend on the town and Georgiana meets an intriguing artist. Esther Babington has to deal with having an unwanted encounter.

Season 2, Episode 02
Against the backdrop of beautiful vistas, familiar faces return, and new inhabitants arrive in an all-new season, chock full of adventures as joyous and surprising as the seaside town itself.

Charlotte and Alexander Colbourne reach an understanding, as she and Colonel Lennox enjoy a close encounter.

Season 2, Episode 04
Tension mounts for Charlotte when Alexander Colbourne and Colonel Lennox reunite at Lady Denham’s garden party.

Season 2, Episode 05
Lennox and Colbourne’s rivalry over Charlotte comes to a head, while Georgiana makes a decision that will impact her future. Edward’s manipulation of Esther takes a dark turn, Alison realizes what she’s been missing, and Tom’s woes come to a head.
