Barkskins is set in Wobik, a small settlement in what is now the Canadian province of Quebec. As the Catholic Church sends Jesuit priests to convert the indigenous people, France sends indentured servants to populate its territory, along with “Filles Du Roi” (“Daughters of the King”), young women to be matched with husbands, start families, and help the colonies prosper. This disparate group of outcasts, rogues, and innocents must navigate brutal hardships, competing interests, and tangled loyalties at the crossroads of civilization: 1690s New France.

Season 1, Episode 01 – “New France”
In the series premiere, a boat arrives in Wobik carrying indentured servants and “Filles du Roi.” Trepagny travels to town to collect his new men.

Season 1, Episode 02 – “The Turtle King”
Duquet escapes indentured servitude and finds himself at the mercy of the vast forest. Elsewhere, Goames and Yvon make a chilling discovery.

Season 1, Episode 03 – “The.Sugared.Plum”
Mathilde gets back to business after her attack, while Goames hunts for answers. Trepagny joins the eligible men of Wobik for a night of matchmaking.

Season 1, Episode 04 – “The.Law.of.Two”
The Iroquois come to Wobik to collect their dead. Trepagny leads Melissande back to the Doma. Delphine embarks on a new life with Pierre Gasquet.

Season 1, Episode 05 – “Buttermilk”
Mathilde encourages Bouchard to reestablish his authority in Wobik before the arrival of the intendant. Melissande and Mari quarrel over Trepagny.

Season 1, Episode 06 – “The.Wobble”
Trepagny and Bouchard attempt a daring rescue mission and incite war with the Iroquois. Cross tells Goames and Yvon a secret and plots his leave.

Season 1, Episode 07 – “Bees.in.a.Bottle”
Cooke and Mother Sabrine embark on a dangerous quest as Trepagny and Melissande are reunited. Cross leads Goames and Yvon deeper into the woods.

Season 1, Episode 08 – “The.Black.Sun”
Preparations begin for Trepagny and Melissande’s wedding as Delphine and Cooke explore a future together. Goames’ loyalty to the company is tested.
