Dan and Emily are crazy about each other. They live in a huge house in the nicest part of Glasgow and want for nothing. All that’s missing is a baby – and they’ve been trying for years. Through a chance encounter they meet Kaya, an 18 year old from the other side of the city, whose life is as precarious at theirs is comfortable. When Kaya agrees to carry their baby, it feels like they were meant to meet but was it really by chance?

Two sides of Glasgow collide when a teenage girl makes a pact with a wealthy couple. But can Dan and Emily trust this girl with their last chance to have a child?

Season 1, Episode 02
Dan is preparing for a public consultation regarding his latest property development, the New East End. His lawyer, Souter, knows a project this ambitious could make or break the company, so he wants Dan’s full attention. But Kaya is proving to be a distraction and Souter is suspicious that her background doesn’t quite check out. On top of this, Souter faces questions from a young and ambitious journalist, Eleanor, who is convinced there’s a story to be found behind Dan’s meteoric rise.

Season 1, Episode 03
It has been weeks since Dan learned the truth about Kaya’s past, and he is tormented by the dilemma of whether to tell Emily. She and Kaya have built a close friendship, and Emily is finally allowing herself to believe that there will be a baby at the end of all this. If Dan tells Emily the truth, it will destroy her, but he also knows that he can’t have a girl like Kaya in his life.

Season 1, Episode 04
Still reeling from the events at the prom, Emily makes a shocking discovery. A face from Kaya’s past reappears, but can she trust them, especially now she’s £50,000 richer?

Season 1, Episode 05
Devastated that Kaya has revoked their rights to visit the baby, Dan launches a legal battle. But will his actions bring about his own downfall?
