At times comedic and at other times heartbreaking, the series follows the intertwining lives of three Manchester couples at different stages in their relationships. At the start, Adam Williams and Rachel Bradley are a new couple. Adam’s best friend Pete Gifford and his wife Jenny are adjusting to life as new parents. While Rachel’s friends Karen and David Marsden fear the possible disintegration of their marriage. The later series picks up their stories over a decade later.

Season 9, Episode 01
Adam finds himself in hot water at work, while his relationship with Karen continues to affect the group. Jenny’s finished her cancer treatment, but her struggle is far from over. David begins to see Mary in a new light.

Season 9, Episode 02
Adam and Karen’s new living arrangements cause chaos for their family when an unexpected visitor tips them over the edge. Elsewhere, David embraces his new role but faces humiliation from a former adversary, while Pete’s time on a jury has unexpected consequences for Adam.

Season 9, Episode 03
Comedy drama following the lives and loves of a group of individuals brought together by life, love and circumstance. Will the chill in their feet put out the passion that burns in their hearts?

Season 9, Episode 04
A chance encounter gives Pete a boost, while Jenny faces fresh heartbreak and Karen attempts to make amends with her mother. David starts his new venture, but soon realises that all is not as it seems.

Season 9, Episode 05
Adam comes out on top, but his excitement is short-lived when reality hits. Karen is put in an impossible position. In the wake of her mother’s death Jenny makes a discovery that sends her into a tailspin.

Season 9, Episode 06
Adam and Karen’s future is thrown into jeopardy by an unexpected offer. Jenny braces herself for her first post-treatment mammogram, while Pete helps their son realise his dream. David is in turmoil over his growing feelings for Robyn.
