Auckland’s picturesque Waiheke Island takes on a different look for Three’s new six-part crime drama The Gulf. The Gulf is a genuinely world-class crime drama set on Waiheke island – Jess Savage, an on-the-nose name for a bullish cop, recovering from amnesia sustained in a car crash which killed her partner. She awakes in hospital to news that a young boy, missing and declared drowned five years earlier, has been discovered on a remote road, alive but not well.

A cold case is blown wide open and Detective Jess Savage is discharged from hospital, intent on solving the mystery of a missing boy.
