Blind 20-something Murphy is drifting through life in a haze of drunkenness, and her only friends are her understanding roommate Jess and Tyson, a sweet teenager she met when he saved her from a violent mugging. Murphy’s life is turned upside down when, while out for a walk with her guide dog, she stumbles upon what she is certain is Tyson’s lifeless body in the alley outside her apartment. When the body disappears by the time the police arrive, and they don’t seem inclined to investigate, Murphy clings onto the only thing that can keep her together: figuring out what happened to her friend.

Season 01, Episode 01 – “Pilot”
The series premiere. Murphy is a hard-living, hard-drinking, disaffected twenty-something with a penchant for cigarettes and casual sex. She’s also blind. Murphy lives with her best friend, Jess, and—more reluctantly—her guide dog, Pretzel, whose presence she resents. Her parents, Hank and Joy, own a guide dog school, a venture they opened hoping it would give Murphy a job with some purpose. Murphy’s closest friend is a teen named Tyson, whose kindness and intelligence are going to waste.
Season 01, Episode 02 – “Mommy Issues”
After Murphy’s latest one-night stand calls her mommy, she develops a rather unexpected lead in Tyson’s case; Chloe thinks it’s time for her father to create a dating profile; Murphy helps Jess pick out a gift for her girlfriend.
Season 01, Episode 03 – “The Big Break”
Murphy enlists an unwitting Felix to help locate Tyson’s girlfriend, Kira; Murphy and Felix take a smoke break under the bleachers and have their first heart-to-heart; Dean does his best to be there for Chloe as she experience’s a rite of passage.
Season 01, Episode 04 – “The Graduate”
Murphy discovers she may not have known Tyson as well as she thought she did. Meanwhile, it’s puppy graduation day at Guiding Hope, and one of the fosters is having a hard time letting go.
Season 01, Episode 05 – “The Feels”
Jess reluctantly agrees to let Murphy go alone with Max on a day trip. While traveling, Murphy has flashback of memories of Tyson. Meanwhile, Jess and Joy realize they may have more in common than they thought.
Season 01, Episode 06 – “Tyson”
Murphy, unable to deal with things, begins to push everyone away, including Max. Meanwhile, Murphy and Jess have a heart-to-heart.
Season 01, Episode 07 – “The One That Got Away”
While hanging out with Max in his food truck, Murphy is shocked to hear a familiar voice screaming outside. Meanwhile, Murphy offers to watch Chloe so Dean can go on a date, but things get a little crazy after she does the one thing he asks her not to do. Lastly, Murphy’s worlds of Max and Darnell (Keston John) and Guiding Hope begin to collide.
Season 01, Episode 08 – “Jessica Rabbit”
Murphy finally starts opening up to Max. Meanwhile, Murphy, Max and Darnell step up to help Jess. Lastly, Felix makes an interesting decision.
Season 01, Episode 09 – “Deal or No Deal”
With Jess focusing all of her attention on Vanessa, Murphy begins to feel neglected. To make matters worse, tensions begin to rise between her and Max. Meanwhile, Jules is forced to make a quick decision.
Season 01, Episode 10 – “Bait and Switch”
Murphy and Jess are both going through similar situations, but they are handling things very differently. Meanwhile, Felix and Jess share a beautiful moment together.
Season 01, Episode 11 – “I Woke Up Like This”
Murphy and Jess borrow the Guiding Hope van to search for Max, leaving Felix in a precarious position. Meanwhile, Dean receives some surprising news.
Season 01, Episode 12 – “Rollin’ with the Homies”
it’s Murphy’s first birthday since Tyson was killed and she is feeling more isolated than ever.
Season 01, Episode 13 – “It’s Always Been You ”
in the Season 1 finale, things begin to take an interesting turn between Murphy and Dean.
