Valley of the Boom explores the dot-com era during Silicon Valley’s unprecedented tech boom of the 1990s and subsequent bust. The six-part limited series, tells the wildly true stories of the epic browser wars and the companies that shaped the internet. The insanely true story of the epic browser wars told by the really smart people who were there. This mostly scripted series weaves in select documentary elements that help tell the true inside story of the internet’s formative years.

Part 1: “print (“hello, world”)”
Netscape goes on a road show in pursuit of potential investors, TheGlobe.com team struggles to find financing and Michael Fenne (Steve Zahn) searches for new opportunities.

Part 2: “pseudocode”
Netscape dominates the browser market and Microsoft retaliates. TheGlobe.com raises money and Michael Fenne (Steve Zahn) starts a company featuring streaming technology.

Part 3: “Agile Method”
With the need for additional funding, TheGlobe.com hesitates to bring in a potential investor, not convinced that it will be a good fit; using stolen technology, Fenne launches a new company called Pixelon with the help of a new investment company.

Part 4: “Priority Inversion”
In its latest attack, Microsoft includes Internet Explorer on all new Windows computers, hitting Netscape hard; Paternot and Krizelman juggle the preparation of the initial public offering with the management of the start of its expansion.

Part 5: “Segfault”
Netscape takes drastic measures to return the company to its status as a leader in innovation; Paternot and Krizelman fight to keep TheGlobe.com focused on virtual communities; Pixelon presents its revolutionary streaming technology to the world.

Part 6: “Fatal Error”
Andreessen adapts to AOL, while Barksdale is aware of Microsoft’s antitrust case; Paternot and Krizelman discover potentially damaging news; Pixelon investors and board members face Fenne and demand an explanation about the failed technology.
