Training Day is a crime thriller that begins 15 years after the events of the feature film, about a young, idealistic police officer who is tapped to go undercover in an elite squad of the LAPD where he partners with a veteran, morally ambiguous detective.

Season 01, Episode 1 – “Apocalypse Now”
Kyle Craig, an idealistic police officer, is partnered with morally ambiguous detective Frank Rourke in the LAPD. In the opener, Kyle is assigned to work undercover on Frank’s team and report on his off-book methods. Meanwhile, Frank tutors Kyle in the way of the streets where the ends often justify the means.

Season 01, Episode 2 – “Tehrangeles”
Kyle grows concerned that Frank’s rogue tactics will put a kidnapped girl’s life at even greater risk after a former member of Muammar Gaddafi’s Amazonian Guard becomes involved in the deal and ups the stakes for the girl’s safe return.

Season 01, Episode 3 – “Trigger Time”
The rift between Kyle and Frank grows when Kyle refuses to adhere to one of Frank’s morally ambiguous rules, but the pair must put aside their differences when they learn the notorious hit man known as El Cucuy is targeting members of the Russian mob in Los Angeles.

Season 01, Episode 4 – “Code of Honor”
Frank’s longtime friend and informant is killed by Yakuza assassins, and his quest for revenge puts him and Kyle at odds with an FBI agent whose operation against the Yakuza is jeopardized by Frank’s actions.

Season 01, Episode 5 – “Wages of Sin”
Lockhart opens an internal investigation into a past shooting that could cost Frank his badge and freedom, which forces Kyle to help Frank clear his name or risk losing the one man who could help him solve his father’s murder.

Season 01, Episode 6 – “Faultlines”
An investigation into weapons trafficking becomes personal for Tommy when an old friend becomes connected to the case. Meanwhile, Lockhart demands to see results from Kyle’s probe into Frank’s actions, which leads Frank to reveal some surprising information to his trainee.

Season 01, Episode 7 – “Quid Pro Quo”
Kyle’s morals are put to the test when Frank involves him in a plan to take down a criminal defense attorney who has been helping his clients eliminate witnesses.

Season 01, Episode 8 – “Blurred Lines”
The hunt for a father-son crime team becomes personal for Frank, who is forced to face the parallels between the duo and his own childhood as the son of an outlaw.

Season 01, Episode 9 – “Bad Day at Aqua Mesa”
Frank and Kyle seek justice for a community organizer who is accidentally killed in a gang-related shooting.

Season 01, Episode 10 – “Sunset”
Frank’s and Holly’s worlds collide when several of her call girls go missing, leading the SIS to investigate an eccentric, reclusive Hollywood producer.

Season 01, Episode 11 – “Tunnel Vision”
The hunt for a suspected terrorist takes an emotional toll on Kyle, who is convinced that he encountered the suspect during his military service in Afghanistan.

Season 01, Episode 12 – “Elegy”
Kyle’s trust in Frank is shattered when he learns that Frank has been lying to him about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death.

Season 01, Episode 13 – “Elegy 2”
Season 1 ends with Kyle, Tommy and Rebecca trying to rescue Frank after he goes on a rogue mission to Mexico to locate intel linked to the murder of Kyle’s father.
