Here is the huge NFO from the CD itself…
eXPerience Presents…
Tiny 7 Unattended Activated CD (x86)

Code:
Thank you for trying the very first edition of Windows Tiny7
Based on: Windows 7 Ultimate x86 build 6.1.7600.16385 RTM
To install Windows Tiny7 from this CD, set your PC up so it will boot from the CD-ROM in the PC’s BIOS.
There is no upgrade option available in Tiny7, because the option is removed.
Only install Tiny7 onto a freshly formatted partition or hard disk.
You do not need any product key in this release – the installation of Tiny7 is unattended, apart from in the very beginning where you choose which drive or partition to install to.
All installations are set to US English. If you do not want the US keyboard settings, you will have to change this in Windows when it has installed (as opposed to choosing it at install time), its easy enough, just open the “Keyboard Settings” folder in the desktop eXPerience folder and read the included ReadMe.txt that is there.

I download it the first time was post, and I test it.

    Really careful with Installation IF YOU DON’T HAVE ALL DRIVE OF THE HARDWARE YOU WILL INSTALLED. after installation is not Audio, Video or Internet Connection to get you drivers back. {because has no drivers at all.}

So if you have a Laptop be more careful.

    Regarding the Software
    ———————————-

This is the fastest version ever I see. (I make a lite version same as fastest but is a old version) But I think before I star take things out…. Not all elements works in this version (the guy who make it… try to fix the soft in a CD, but let out so many things serious people normally use. (In my PC’s “by the way really good ones” the transparency “AERO THEME” not even works). I don’t even see it installed (I search the Software)… no any players or Media Center “You miss a lot when this is out”, and even after I install the LAN Drivers I can’t get connection (seem like the software missed vital elements.)

Other than that, the activation IS REAL, the speed is the faster WINDOWS OS you will ever find. (and I mean “ever”) and is the best option for crappy old PC’s who don’t support MC (media center with TV Cards) mainly because is a CD Installation and after Installation is almost the hard drive seem like empty…. Plus the excellent 255 connection tweak for Internet downloading channels… Also Thanks God I find the only software installed in this Lite version named FOXIT that is the best PDF reader I ever test, So I search the NET for the SUITE version and now I get it in my personal favorite software’s.

So thanks a lot to ==> kvashna

Tried both rapidshare and hotfile versions. Disk image is corrupt, file number 5 gets CRC error. Unrar fails at 99%, if you keep the file anyway, the installer gets an error and deletes anything it installed.

  5. 5.SCL Says:

Dwonloaded it the first time when it was placed on the website. Installed it on a Dell Inspiron 6400. It did missed couple of drivers (video, network) but it was no problem. I went to Dell website and downloaded them. Everything worked. It is true that there is no medial player. Just goto http://www.free-codecs.com and download their megavideo codecs and the player worked like a charm. It is a very stripped version but you can add whatever software you like. It is very fast. I loved it and would recommend it to people who know what they want and how to do with it.

  6. 6.Alex Says:

To ==> SCL …Thanks for you TIPS too. :)

You was lucky… I use a laptop and I forget to get backup the drivers… So… not even the touchpad works, This gives me hard time reading missing drivers versions and searching in other computer to burn it back and install it.

In my personal PC I tested in every aspect (but I only prefer as Virtual PC) because is the faster in that matter. (but windows 7, didn’t connect me to the NET from virtual PC’s). I save this VHD (virtual hard drive) with a CD with some 1000’s drivers in the “Documents”… So I install the image only the quarter of time to people who use 32-Bit… Them I’ll just search for drivers in “Documents Folder”.
By the way… In the past I use [experience version] as a “personal OS” for Windows Vista.

  7. 7.HBZ Says:

I just want to say thanks and i hope i dont have a CRC problem like G…but i was wondering if anyone has put this on an ACER ASPIRE ONE, I have that w/ 1.5ram and 8gb hdd i am in need of a installation manual since i dont have a cd drive.

  8. 8.Alex Says:

    To ==> HBZ.

Hey HBZ, The Soft will works as charm in any PC, and will self activate.

If you don’t have the drivers just Install a DRIVER BACKUP software in the you ACER ASPIRE… “Magic Driver” is a good one, try to select “ALL the drivers backup”… not… “Only Microsoft drivers” (remember this soft don’t has any driver) and backup like Auto-Installer or EXE file in to a CD or Flash Drive…. Them Install this Version of Wind-7… (Don’t touch you PC until all process and activation are finish)… them put back you Drivers Backup exe file to you PC and click over it. after restart you will fell a new definition of “what is SPEED”.

  9. 9.HBZ Says:

Thanks But my driver issue is NOW that the software doesnt recognize my CD drive (i borrowed one) and now i can not even install Tiny 7……any help w/ this?

  10. 10.Alex Says:

    To ==>

Use the LAN or the USB port.
    ——————————————-

You also can use any external peripheral device like USB-HardDrive or USB-DVD-Writers or any Flash Drive… You can also use the LAN access to pass files to the PC you are fixing.

The way you explain you situation seem like, You lost Drivers (same will happen to people If they install this version without backing up their drivers.. Thats why I alert in the beginning of this Post)… So… You better look for the drivers or version of you PC in the Internet, download the drivers and pass it to the PC you are trying to fix (If you are using other PC to connect to the Internet) one way to do it is.. typing “DxDiag” in you Run tab search.

Or do a right click in you “Computer” Icon.. them go to “Device Manager”… (depending or you OS Operation-System) you will can go to “Device Manager” from “My Computer” Icon… or you will have to go first to “Properties”, them to “Device Manager”… this will tell you what drivers you are missing.

The “DxDiag” command is just to check you “hardware names and versions”.. So you can download “ALL THE DRIVERS” at ones.

    More info on driver backup…

Those comments on allyoulike.com were talking about driver backup software.

They said “Driver Magic”. I went and found DriverMagic 2.0, downloaded and installed it. Not the right one.

So I dug deeper and found freeware DriverMax. It does it all, for free. I think this is the software that the Comments people were using to begin with. I even created a free online account

    username: bawjkt
    password: training

all features are active. This simplifies this driver process a lot.

” DriverMax allows you to download the latest driver updates for your computer. No more searching for some rare driver on discs or on the web. No more driver CD after the other. Just create a free account, log in, and start downloading the driver updates that you need.

You can also export all your current drivers to a folder or a compressed file. When reinstalling Windows you will have all drivers in one place!

In case you are interested only in backing up a driver just take a look at the Export Wizard. This tool will only export the drivers you select by copying the needed files to a folder or a compressed ZIP file. After reinstalling Windows all drivers will be back in place in less than 5 minutes – sparing you of searching, inserting disc after disk and losing precious time. The Driver Import wizard allows you to install all the drivers that you backed up. The entire operation might take up to 5-10 minutes.

Just one single computer restart will be required after all drivers are reinstalled!

DriverMax is able to display a full report of all installed drivers. This feature can be very useful when you want to analyze the differences between the driver versions installed on different machines or when talking to tech support.”

here is the download link, it’s 3 megs.

    http://download.cnet.com/DriverMax/3000-18513_4-10572602.html?part=dl-85782&subj=dl&tag=button

I’m not asking for you guys to update all of my drivers. Just this DriverMax software looks like the best solution to backup the drivers from the XP install and then restore them to the Tiny7 install. According to Alex who used it to do his own Tiny7 installation.

Reading over the AllyouLike comments again now, I can see that the only problems in Tiny7 installs were:

    1) One guy downloaded a corrupt image. Ours should be clean and is also Rev. 1, fixing bugs from the original release. Rev 1 was only released a few days ago.

    2) Some other guys didn’t back up all the drivers from the XP install first. And the Tiny7 install does not have all the drivers – because it’s Tiny and fits on a CD. So they erased all their drivers. We won’t have that problem because we’ll use DriverMax to backup *all* of the XP drivers (even the Microsoft ones), then use DriverMax to reinstall all the drivers into the Tiny7 install.

As Alex (the most successful guy) says in Allyoulike:

“If you don’t have the drivers just Install a DRIVER BACKUP software in the you ACER ASPIRE

… “Magic Driver” (he means DriverMax – Ben) is a good one,

try to select “ALL the drivers backup”… not… “Only Microsoft drivers” (remember this soft (Tiny7 distro – Ben) don’t has any driver)

and backup like Auto-Installer or EXE file (the Exported Drivers file from DriverMax – Ben) in to a CD or Flash Drive

…. Them Install this Version of Wind-7… (Tiny7 distro – Ben) (Don’t touch you PC until all process and activation are finish)

… them put back you Drivers Backup exe file to you PC and click over it. after restart you will fell a new definition of “what is SPEED”.”

If we follow those simple steps using DriverMax, the driver issues should be covered.

    So…

The issues on this upgrade are:

    1) Windows Upgrade Advisor. I ran the program (it’s on the laptop) and basically it said YES you can upgrade to Windows 7. It did also say the disk controller was not compatible
in the Issues section. But said YES you can upgrade. So I’m not really sure how big an issue that is. You can see the report on the laptop; it’s on the desktop.

    2) Internal drive in the laptop. I want to continue to use the 200GB original drive that’s in the laptop. But we should take it out and leave it alone as a backout plan because it’s running perfectly right now under XP and has tons of info I need. So, Cipto said he’s got another 150 GB laptop drive he can use in the meantime to make sure this works before we mess with the original disk. Good idea. Problem solved.

    3) Drivers. We can download DriverMax to make that problem go away according to Alex in the AllYouLike comments. By the way, see the date on his comments about how well the Tiny7 install / driver backup and restore with DriverMax works? He said that *yesterday*. We are really on the cutting edge here.

    4) Backup of original drive. I sent in that new 465GB drive so you can keep an old copy of my XP install with all the data on there. I will pick through it and copy back stuff I need. Just leave a copy of it on that 465 GB drive.

    5) Testing. Just check system functionality after you’re done. Can you browse internet? Do you get stereo audio? Headphone jack works? Monitor connects to the VTBook card and image comes up? By the way the latest VTBook drivers are in a folder on the desktop; I downloaded these for this process.

Don’t bother installing MS Office; I have MS Office 2007 here at home and will install that myself.

OK hope all of this helps and Good Luck.

It should be the hottest, fastest operating system on the block when you’re done.

    Ben
    ——————————–

Cipto and his laptop surgeon begin at UC98.com work on this project tomorrow at their shop – they were recommending TinyXP a year ago so roping them into their first Tiny7 install just feels right.

Alex – does that look right to you?
Thanks for all the info so far.

  12. 12.Alex Says:

    To ==> Ben.

Hey dude thanks for you tips :)

I want to apology because I said wrong the name of the software… The right name is:

    “DRIVE MAGICIAN”.

Here is the link here in AllYouLike.

    http://www.allyoulike.com/?p=25384 (works as Charm)

So sorry for that, I have so much softwares and I do anything by memory (seem like my memory is going bad) Lol.

Is really simple, Before you install this version, Backup you drivers the way I explain before. Install the version and put you drivers back…. If you by mistake Install this windows software (really hard to install in old Laptop, because just in the installation is saying that need drivers to install it)… Well in that case you have to search (as I explain before for you hardware version drivers) and pass to you computer using some of the way I said before. using other computer… The reason I said this is because I have no Internet connection
(I use LAN ==> Local Access Network)

Is not so difficult to do it :)

Sorry for the mistaking of the name… You are right BEN :) if you don’t say-id I don’t notice the mistaken… Thanks again.

  13. 13.Alex Says:

    Just another note.

I check the link to Drive Magician I give before and as more usual (the picture in the POST is wrong) and the link are dead.

Just search Google for the software OK? :)

  14. 14.Ben Says:

Hey I just wanted to report that Cipto and his crew nailed it and it’s up and running on my 2006 Toshiba Satellite 1.6Ghz Core2 Duo

It is much faster than it was under XP, or the way XP was running on a my heavily loaded-up machine.

Startup is under 30 secs, shutdown seven. Restarting your machine is something you can do now. *Everything* seems faster. I spent five hours re-loading all my apps and customizing settings.

Even Office 2007 seems especially quick.

It’s strange to have one’s four-year-old laptop somehow turn into a new laptop with a new OS. Really feels like a new machine, like a workstation.

It usually drives a 22″ display and a 28″ as well. I lost the 28″ in the upgrade as it uses the old product known as VTBook, a PCMCIA video card, which doesn’t have drivers for Windows 7. Or Vista for that matter.

Heartily recommend this new OS for anybody embracing the future.

  15. 15.Kilometre Says:

I dont have access to something like UC98.com or Geek squad that can help me install this, but what I think is that I am going to need further customization like removing most other languages, adding MS office 2007 and firefox. I would even be willing to pay to get suh a stripped down customized disk image with just the right software that I would need. I am not going to need hashtab as mentioned in the paste bin.
