Interested in fact based espionage and ungentlemanly officers and spies? If you like unadulterated noir espionage then you should get past Chapter 1 in Beyond Enkription in TheBurlingtonFiles series even if it is a tad vicious … to put it euphemistically. However, once you get past Chapter 5 you’ll have difficulty putting it down if you like cerebral yet action packed stuff.

To really understand this fact based thriller it would be wise to first read two news articles released several years after Beyond Enkription was published. The articles were published on TheBurlingtonFiles website about characters’ identities in the book (September 2021) and Pemberton’s People in MI6 who are the protagonists in the book (October 2022).

By the way, please don’t forget that the author of this “novelog” (which as noted on the website was originally intended to be a film script) was not a professional career writer like say John le Carré and not even an aspiring author. Nevertheless Beyond Enkription has been heralded as “up there with My Silent War by Kim Philby and No Other Choice by George Blake” for depicting a real agent’s thoughts when in action in the field.
