As the Roman Empire expands, it encounters local populations that it considers ‘barbarians’, who fight back, effectively and savagely, dealing Rome one blow after another. Hannibal, Viriathus, Armenius, Spartacus and more strike back against Rome, some from without and some from within. See their struggles, their motivations, and the outcomes as these indigenous people’s fight for survival, revenge and justice.

Episode 01 – “Part 1 Resistance”
Series premiere of a docudrama that chronicles the rebel tribes that brought down the Roman Empire. In the opener, Hannibal builds an army to conquer the Alps, and the shepherd Viriathus organizes a resistance to save his people.

Episode 02 – “Part 2 Rebellion”
Spartacus’ slave uprising threatens Rome on its own turf; Arminius, born in Germania but raised a Roman, chooses a side in the fight for freedom.

Episode 03 – “Part3-Revenge”
Arminius unites tribes and sets up an ambush to drive Rome out of Germania; Boudica wreaks bloody havoc on the Empire; and Rome’s betrayal of the Goths leads to an apocalyptic clash.

Episode 04 – “Ruin”
Alaric’s Goths sack Rome; Attila the Hun seizes power through chaos and destruction while the barbarians move in for the kill. The Vandal king, Geiseric, masterminds the end of Rome; the Empire falls.
